Ceramic Coating vs Traditional Wax: The Ultimate Comparison
Published by Mohit Vyas • Updated for Indore Drivers
Deciding between traditional carnauba wax and 9H nano ceramic coating comes down to durability, heat tolerance, and maintenance commitment.
Traditional Carnauba Wax
Wax sits on top of the clear coat and produces a warm, rich glow. However, carnauba melts at approximately 80°C. In Indore's intense summer sun, dark car hoods easily exceed this temperature, causing wax to evaporate within 3 to 6 weeks.
9H Nano Ceramic Coating
Ceramic coatings form a permanent chemical covalent bond with the clear coat. They resist temperatures up to 600°C, provide extreme hydrophobic water beading (contact angles >110°), and protect against bird droppings and UV fading for 2 to 5 years.
